The Midland Independent School District (MISD) recently conducted a beam signing ceremony for Lone Star Trails Elementary School, marking a significant milestone in the construction of its 40th campus. The school is scheduled to open in August as part of the Permian Basin public school district's Bond 2023 package.

According to MISD, the signatures on the beam represent a lasting part of the school's foundation, symbolizing growth, progress, and community support. "This event was another important step toward successfully completing the Midland ISD Bond 2023 projects on time," reads a Facebook post from February 4.

Midland Times reported that construction on Lone Star Trails Elementary was 28 percent complete as of December 2024, based on information from the MISD Board of Trustees. In addition to the beam signing, other construction milestones include the installation of stud walls in classroom areas, second-floor decking installation, and drywall sheathing beginning on the north side of the campus.

The Facebook post concluded with MISD expressing gratitude to district leaders, the bond committee, architects, construction teams, and the entire community for their contributions in making this campus a reality.
