The Midland Police Department (MPD) is set to participate in career fairs in El Paso from February 5 to 7.
According to a February 4 Facebook post, MPD representatives will attend the Ft. Bliss Career Exploration & ACS Hiring Fair at 11199 Sgt. E. Churchill St. on February 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the University of Texas El Paso (UTEP) Spring Career Fair at the UTEP Union Building East, Room 308 on February 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Prospective applicants will have the opportunity to meet officers, ask questions, and learn about joining the force at each career fair, as said by MPD in the post. "Don’t miss this opportunity to serve, protect, and make a difference," the post reads. "See you there!"
On February 9 at 9 a.m., MPD will conduct an onsite testing event. Interested individuals are encouraged to sign up by calling (432) 685-7590 or emailing MPDrecruitment@midlandtexas.gov.
According to the Permian Basin law enforcement agency’s website, applicants wishing to join MPD must possess at least a high school diploma or GED, be 21 years of age or older, hold a valid Texas driver’s license, and have no felony convictions. They must also meet all conditions required for obtaining the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education Basic Peace Officer Certification.
