The Midland Fire Department (MFD) provided assistance on January 17 to a motor vehicle accident in nearby Midland County.
According to a Facebook post, MFD units responded to the collision involving a Rankin County Hospital District emergency medical services (EMS) vehicle. The incident occurred on State Highway 349 near West County Road 270 at 2:18 p.m. The fire department reported injuries at the scene.
The Rankin EMS vehicle was transporting individuals from another accident in Upton County, according to the MFD. "MFD units assisted with transporting patients from the accidents and with a vehicle fire carrying hazardous materials," the post said.
Six people were among those injured, with four transported to a hospital in Midland.
