Christine Gentry Foreman has been appointed as the newest member of the Midland College Board of Trustees. She was sworn in by the Honorable Leah Robertson during a recent meeting.
According to a news release, Foreman ran unopposed in November for Place 5, a position previously held by retiring board member Steve Castle. Foreman, who worked as a nurse for ten years, has longstanding ties to Midland, having attended public school and Midland College (MC). Since leaving the medical field, her focus has shifted to community advocacy and enhancing community-based initiatives.
Midland College also announced on Facebook that Vice-Chairperson Charlene Romero McBride (Place 6) and Mike Oestmann (Place 4) have begun their new terms. "We look forward to their leadership in helping Midland College reimagine the future of education and our community," the school wrote.
"Christine’s deep commitment to the Midland community, her passion for education, and her drive to make a positive impact will undoubtedly bring energy and perspective to our board," said MC President Dr. Damon Kennedy.
