Midland to see a very windy start to the week before a cold front cools temperatures

Midland residents can anticipate a respite from the cold as the National Weather Service (NWS) predicts a rise in temperatures following a cool and cloudy start today.

According to the NWS, the city will experience a high near 68 degrees Fahrenheit with southwest wind gusts reaching up to 25 and 30 miles per hour. Currently, there is still a chill in the air with the temperature standing at 57 degrees Fahrenheit.

The NWS Midland expects temperatures to warm up on Sunday and Monday afternoon before another cold front brings temperatures down. "Temps/winds increase on Sunday into Monday. Higher wind speeds in the Guadalupe and Delaware Mountains. Mountains may see wind speeds of 30-40 mph, with gusts up to 60 mph. #txwx #nmwx," NWS Midland wrote on X.

The weather service forecasts a high of 70 degrees Fahrenheit and a low of 38 for Monday, with wind gusts reaching up to 15 miles per hour. Tuesday is expected to be sunny with a high near 51 and a low of 31. Wednesday will bring a high of 57 with a low of 36. Thursday's high will be 61 with a low of 40, while Friday's high will reach 65 and have a low of 44.
