The city of Midland is inviting residents to participate in the Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) 5310 Public Involvement Virtual Workshops. These workshops aim to gather input on federal funding for mobility services for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
A December 5 Facebook post attributed to the city states that the workshops began on December 3 and will continue through the next month. TxDOT seeks to gather input on federal funding for mobility services for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
According to the state agency, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) 5310 Program coordinates with other federal, state, and local resources and programs designed to serve seniors and individuals with disabilities. Regionally developed public transportation coordination plans and public workshops make the program possible.
The 5310 Public Involvement Workshop (PIW) will be conducted in English. However, interpreters and document translators will be available for those who do not primarily speak English or have difficulty communicating effectively in English. Special accommodations are also available for those with disabilities who need special assistance. Requests can be made to Lisa Johnson at 512-486-5960 or PTN_ProgramMgmt@txdot.gov no later than 4 p.m., at least ten business days before the event.
