Lady Rebels’ Torres to sign letter of commitment with UTPB

Midland Legacy's Kyndall Torres is set to sign her letter of commitment to play college volleyball at the University of Texas Permian Basin today.

According to an X post by Midland Independent School District (MISD) Executive Director of Athletics Wes Torres, the signing will occur on campus at 3:30 p.m. in the Rebels' library. Wes Torres is also Kyndall's father. MISD Superintendent Dr. Stephanie Howard offered her congratulations, saying, "Good luck at the next level."

Torres was named District 2-6A outstanding defensive specialist, according to Rebel Volleyball’s X account. She recorded 182 digs in district play with a 2.5 serve reserve rating and was also named to the second team academic all-state honors by the Texas High School Coaches Association.

According to MaxPreps, Torres was part of a Lady Rebels team that achieved a 30-20 overall record and went 6-4 in district play. The team advanced to the playoffs but was defeated by the Eastlake Lady Falcons 3-0 on November 5.
