MISD soccer teams begin practicing for upcoming season

The first day of soccer practice has commenced for the men's and women's teams at Midland High School and Midland Legacy.

"Good luck to our @AthleticsMISD soccer teams this season," wrote Midland Independent School District (ISD) Superintendent Dr. Stephanie Howard on X, a social media platform. Midland ISD Executive Director of Athletics Wes Torres also extended his best wishes to the teams for the upcoming season.

According to the schedule, the Bulldogs will engage in several scrimmages this month before starting their season on January 2, 2025, against Wichita Falls Legacy during the Abilene Tournament. The Lady Bulldogs are set to participate in several scrimmages as well before facing Dallas Sunset in the Richland Hills Tournament on January 2, 2025. The Rebels will open their season at home against LBK Cooper on December 31, while the Lady Rebels will start their campaign on the road against Lubbock Monterey on December 30.

Last season's performance records indicate that the Bulldogs achieved an overall record of 8-6-7 and were 3-3-4 in district play, as reported by MaxPreps. The Rebels recorded a 5-8-5 overall and a district play record of 2-6-2. Meanwhile, the Lady Bulldogs had an overall record of 4-9-5 with a district play record of 2-3-3, and the Lady Rebels ended with a record of 7-8-6 overall and were 2-5-3 in district play.
