Midland College hosted a Women's Well-Being Resource Fair on Dec. 3, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center. The free event was open to the public and provided information and services related to health, wellness, and personal growth.

"The Women's Well-Being Resource Fair was a chance for our community to come together and support one another with tools and knowledge that empower," said Jaime Águila, Ph.D., Director of Community and Family Engagement, during an interview with Midland Times.

The fair featured over 40 local organizations and Midland College programs, including:

  • Prosperity Employment Outreach: Offers employment tools and resources, including the "Success Suits Her" program, which provided professional women’s clothing to support those entering or reentering the workforce.
  • Thriving United: A Recovery Community Organization that provided peer support, recovery resources, and housing for women with children in a supportive environment.
  • Skillpoint Alliance: Offered free, accelerated job training in trades like electrical and HVAC to support employment in high-demand industries.
Other participants included:

  • Numerous Midland College programs and vocational/technical programs
  • United Way of Midland
  • Midland Rape Crisis and Children's Advocacy Center

These organizations, along with other nonprofits and Midland College programs, provided access to a wide range of resources aimed at fostering health and community connection.
