The Midland RockHounds have initiated the nomination process for their Hometown Hero program, as announced in a Facebook post.

According to the March 10 post, the Double-A Minor League Baseball (MiLB) affiliate aims to honor individuals who make a significant impact in the community. The organization invites nominations for military service members, first responders, educators, volunteers, or community leaders. Nominations can be submitted through their website at milb.com/midland/forms/hometown-hero/form.

The post states that the RockHounds will recognize honorees during Thursday, Friday, or Saturday home games at Momentum Bank Ballpark. Hometown Heroes will receive four reserved seating tickets to the game, a $25 RockHounds gift card, a certificate, and a photo of presentation.

The RockHounds are part of the soon-to-be Las Vegas Athletics farm system and will celebrate their 53rd year in 2025. In 2024, Midland set an all-time franchise record with 84 games and won the Texas League’s South Division. The team is scheduled to open the season against the Arkansas Travelers from April 4 to 6.
