Born on May 1, 1933, in Fort Worth, Gorman was the youngest son of Don Houston and Lillian Spears Wiseman. He graduated from Texas Christian University and played basketball for the Horned Frogs, where he met his wife, Peggy June Dyche. They married in 1954 and shared a life dedicated to service and community involvement.
Gorman's impact was felt far and wide, from his time as a vocational teacher to his roles in various civic organizations. He was known for his kindness, attentiveness, and unwavering commitment to those around him. Gorman leaves behind a legacy of compassion and leadership that touched the lives of many.
He is survived by his wife Peggy; their children, Gary Wiseman, Douglas "Dubby" Wiseman, and Dianna Pratt; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Gorman is preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
A service in memory of Gorman Wiseman will be held on Monday, December 30, at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Stockton, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations to First Presbyterian Church or other charities in his honor are welcomed.
