The Midland Independent School Board recently held a special meeting to swear in its newly elected board members.
"Today marks an exciting chapter for MISD as we swear in our newly elected school board members! Their dedication and vision will play a vital role in shaping the future of our schools," the district said in a Facebook post. Matt Friez, Angel Hernandez, and Joshua Guinn were the new members sworn in.
According to the Midland County general election results, Michael Booker was reelected to the Midland Independent School District (ISD) District 1 seat with 2,384 votes. Hernandez won the District 2 seat with 1,913 votes, and Friez will serve District 4 after winning with 3,673 votes. Joshua Guinn took the District 7 seat with 3,948 votes.
Former board members Robert Manquez, Katie Joyner, and Bryan Murry were presented with plaques for their service. "We also take this moment to give thanks to our outgoing board members, whose hard work, commitment, and leadership have made a lasting impact. Your efforts have paved the way for continued growth and success. #misdproud," the district added in a Facebook post.
