The competition between Midland High School and Legacy High School in their annual crosstown rivalry game extended beyond the football field.

According to a social media post from Midland College (MC), the institution offered two students from each school an opportunity to attempt a field goal for a scholarship covering tuition and fees for the 2025-26 academic year. This field-goal kicking contest was supported by C-3, an outreach program aimed at fostering interest and engagement in college and career opportunities for students and families within the Midland Independent School District (MISD). C-3 coaches are actively involved in MISD schools, assisting students in exploring career paths and connecting with relevant resources.

Midland College said, "Though there were some close calls and plenty of excitement, none of the kicks found their way through the uprights. But no one left empty-handed! Each participant received a $50 gift card to the MC Bookstore, redeemable in the 2025-26 school year. We hope this fun night inspired these Rebels and Bulldogs to #ReimagineTheFuture as Midland College Chaps!"

As reported by MaxPreps, on the football field, Legacy High School's Rebels defeated Midland High School's Bulldogs with a score of 28-7. This victory marks Legacy High School's eighth consecutive win over Midland High School.
