The basketball season for Midland College's men's and women's teams is approaching, with schedules recently released.
According to a news release from the school, both teams are hoping "for a competitive season," and the institution anticipates strong support from fans. "Head Coaches Ron Jones and Tra Arnold are excited about their teams’ prospects and are ready to showcase their players’ hard work and talent throughout the season," the school said.
The schedule indicates that the men's team will face Grayson College in Fort Worth on October 11 in an exhibition match before starting the season at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College on November 4. Their first home game will be against Strength 'N Motion, a college prep academy based in San Antonio. Last season, the team concluded with a 28-7 record.
The women's team has two scrimmage dates set for October 12 and October 19. The Lady Chaps will commence their season on the road against Coastal Bend College on November 1, followed by six consecutive away games before hosting Kilgore College on November 22.
