David Truitt, 72, of Midland, Texas, journey on this planet came to an end on October 5, 2024. Born on July 23, 1952, in Crane, Texas, to Norman and Dorothy Truitt, he lived in various towns before settling in Midland. David was a graduate of Artesia High School and Eastern New Mexico University, where he earned his B.S. in mathematics in 1974 and M.A. in 1976.

In 1973, he married Linda Evans, and together they had three daughters. Known for his 35-year career as a college math educator and his retirement spent traveling across the United States, David visited all 48 connected states by 2016. He valued his faith, fatherhood, and role as a grandfather.

Visitation will take place from 8:00am to 10:00am on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Westside Church of Christ in Midland. Funeral services, officiated by Mike Vestal, will follow at 10:00am, with burial at Crane Memorial Cemetery in Crane, Texas, later that afternoon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in David's honor to a charity of choice.
