Thomas Guffey Midkiff, 81, Dies at Home in Midland, Texas

Midland, TX - Thomas Guffey Midkiff, 81, passed away peacefully at his home in Midland, Texas, on Wednesday, August 8, 2024. Born on December 14, 1942, in Midland to Lige Irwin Midkiff and Lolita Lucille Guffey Midkiff, Thomas graduated from Midland High School in 1962 and later served in the Navy, being Honorably Discharged in 1966. He married Joan Dove on December 31, 1966, in San Francisco, and they would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary this year. Thomas was known for his generosity, love, and faithfulness, and had many friends.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Joan Dove Midkiff, and was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. A rosary will be held on Sunday, August 11th, at 8 p.m., and a memorial Mass on Tuesday, August 13th, at 2 p.m., both at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church located at 4601 Neely Avenue in Midland. A private burial will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens.
