Valedictorian of his 1973 class at Stanton High School, Marc ventured into the oil business following graduation, beginning with his father's contract pumping business and progressing to roles at RK Petroleum and Atkins Petroleum, where he served as Vice President of Operations. Throughout his career spanning over forty years in the oil industry, Marc found immense fulfillment in his favorite position as a "company man."
In August 2001, Marc met Carol Miller at The Ranch dance hall in Midland, leading to their marriage in Las Vegas on October 22, 2002. The couple shared a love for dancing, travel, and annual anniversary trips each October.
Marc reveled in tending to his garden, reading, and offering guidance to his family with his exceptional problem-solving skills. Survived by his beloved wife Carol, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, and other relatives, Marc exemplified unwavering love and support in all aspects of his life.
Family and friends will pay their respects during visitation at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland on Friday, June 28, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services, guided by Reverend Jan Reed and Reverend Debra Greene, will be held on Saturday, June 29, at 10:00 a.m. at Nalley-Pickle Funeral Home, followed by interment at Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Midland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bob Deavenport Food Pantry for Martin County in Stanton, Texas.
Gregory Marc Briggs, a pillar of strength and wisdom, will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
