Former MISD Superintendent Angélica Ramsey | Fort Worth Independent School District

Angélica Ramsey, Superintendent of Fort Worth Independent School District (FWISD), has resigned following concerns from parents and teachers regarding her leadership over the past two years. On Sept. 24, the FWISD Board of Trustees voted 8-1 to accept Ramsey’s resignation, which will take effect on Oct. 1.

In a joint statement issued by the FWISD Board of Trustees and Ramsey on Sept. 24, both parties confirmed the agreement to her resignation.

Ramsey, who previously served as Superintendent of Midland Independent School District (MISD) for 18 months, joined MISD in February 2022. During her tenure, she became the fifth permanent or interim superintendent at Midland ISD since 2016.

After Ramsey’s departure from MISD, Kellie Spencer, the district's Chief of Administrative Services, stepped in as acting superintendent. Stephanie Howard was later appointed as MISD's superintendent and officially began her role on Jan. 3, 2023. Howard is still currently serving as the MISD superintendent.
