Midland Memorial Hospital held its annual DAISY Award ceremony this week to honor exceptional care provided by the hospital’s nurses. The ceremony on Sep. 23 featured several team nominations, including teams in the Bone Marrow, Emergency Department, Operating Room Robotics, Simulation, and Navigations units.
This year’s DAISY Award winner, selected by the nominations team, went to the Emergency Department Team. They earned the award based on what the hospital said was the team’s dedication to providing compassionate, life-saving care in high-stress situations.
Kit Bredimus, Chief Nursing Officer at Midland Memorial, praised the efforts of all the teams, and said their work “exemplifies the hospital's commitment” to delivering excellent patient care.
The DAISY Award is “an international recognition program that highlights the compassion and skill of nurses, and at Midland Memorial, it celebrates the continuous dedication of teams like the Emergency Department,” said Brediumus in an interview with Midland Times.
The DAISY Foundation was established in memory of J. Patrick Barnes to recognize nurses who go “above and beyond” in providing care.
