Bridges: ‘134 yards rushing, 2 rushing tds, and 1 passing td in a win against Amarillo’

Midland High School quarterback Stroman Bridges took to X to celebrate the Bulldogs' 49-42 victory over the Amarillo Sandies.

According to midlandhighfootball.com, the Bulldogs are now 2-1 and will face El Paso Montwood for their homecoming game at 7 p.m. at Astound Broadband Stadium.

"Stroman Bridges was a one-man wrecking crew for Midland as he rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. That's the most rushing yards Bridges has posted since back in October of 2023," said MaxPreps, an online source that follows high school sports throughout the country. The Bulldogs rushed for 399 yards against the Sandies. The team now has five consecutive games, including last season, where they have tallied 173 yards on the ground.

In August, Bridges posted his official offer to play for Army and attend West Point on X. "On behalf of our entire football staff, it is my great pleasure to offer you a full scholarship to the United States Military Academy at West Point," Army Head Coach Jeff Monken wrote to Strotman in a letter posted to X. "This is an opportunity for you to join the nation’s no. 1 public college, play in one of college football’s most successful, tradition-rich programs and be exposed to the finest training in the world."

According to Hudl.com, Bridges is a senior signal caller and slotback for the Bulldogs. He is listed at six-foot and 190 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds, benches 300 pounds and squats 450 pounds.
