2024 MUGS Fall Season | Katelynn Estes

The Midland United Girls Softball (MUGS) began their 2024 fall season on Sept. 14 at the MUGS softball complex at 498 Mann St. The Panthers, an 8U team, secured a 6-4 victory against Team 7, according to ‘team mom,’ Katelynn Estes.

The 8U, or age 8-years or under, team was coached by John Estes, father to Panthers catcher Teagan Estes. Most teams in the MUGS, including the Panthers, are coached by dedicated parents and volunteers who help foster athletic ability and essential life skills, such as teamwork, discipline, and leadership.

The league provides a platform for young girls to develop lasting skills that they can carry into adulthood, on and off the field.

MUGS has been a staple in the Midland, TX community, providing girls with opportunities to learn and compete in fast-pitch softball. The league organizes various age divisions, from T-ball to older competitive levels, providing all players a chance to develop their skills over time.

The league is seeking volunteers to help with coaching, umpiring, and other support roles.
