Hosea Stredic, with nearly three decades of coaching experience, is set to lead Holy Cross Catholic's boys and girls track and field teams. As he begins his first season with the program, Stredic aims to develop a young team full of potential.

"I’ve been coaching for 29 years, and one of the most fulfilling aspects of this journey is watching the growth and development of the athletes over time," Stredic said. "The transformation—whether it’s in terms of skill, discipline, or confidence—is what keeps me motivated year after year."

According to Stredic, this season presents a fresh challenge as he transitions from TLCA, where he previously coached a state championship-winning program. Now at Holy Cross, he intends to instill the same level of discipline and dedication that has characterized his career. "This season is especially exciting because I have a young team with so much potential," he said. "There’s a lot of opportunity for growth, and I’m eager to help these athletes learn the fundamentals of running and the technical aspects."

Among the athletes to watch this season are senior Jude Mendez and junior Kenderick Siefken, both competing in the 100-meter and 200-meter events. "Jude has been working hard and is ready to take his performance to the next level this season," Stredic noted. "Kenderick has shown a lot of promise, and I’m excited to see how he continues to improve."

Beyond competition, Stredic finds motivation in his athletes' personal development. "My motivation comes from watching our kids grow, both as athletes and individuals," he said. "Track requires consistency, discipline, and hard work, and I take great pride in seeing the results of that effort."

Looking ahead, Stredic has high expectations for the program. He hopes to see at least eight athletes advance to the regional meet with aspirations for state qualifications. "We have a great foundation to work with, and I’m excited to see how far we can push this team," he concluded.

With an experienced coach like Stredic leading them, Holy Cross's track and field program appears poised for significant progress this season.
