Midland College is addressing the need for a robust workforce in a growing region by developing a master plan and seeking community feedback for ideas.
According to a Midland College news release, the school aims to create a plan that will help it adapt to community needs over the next half-century. This plan will provide a roadmap for campus leaders on how to invest in endeavors, offer a strategic vision through a data-driven approach, and guide the school’s academic mission.
"While we continue to play a pivotal role in the region's education, innovation, and prosperity, we are also committed to addressing new challenges, including economic and demographic changes, and maximizing opportunities to positively impact student lives and surrounding communities through higher education," said Midland College President Dr. Damon Kennedy. "Through our collaboration with Midland ISD, Midland Memorial Hospital, other surrounding higher ed institutions and industry partners, we feel our region is well-positioned to address the needs of our growing community," Kennedy added.
The college hopes that the master plan will be finished by 2025. The institution is utilizing the strategic framework moniker "Honor the Past; Reimagine the Future" as an effort to back its ambitions.
