Permian Basin stations KMID News and KPEJ News reported that the ceremony was attended by Holy Cross students, families, and staff, along with representatives from the Midland Chamber’s counterparts at the Odessa Chambers of Commerce.

According to KMID News and KPEJ News, Holy Cross is a relatively new institution, having recently graduated its third class last month.

School head Carolyn Cantú told KMID and KPEJ that Holy Cross is blessed to open the gym. She added that it will host sporting events and celebrations, as well as serve as a central meeting place for their families, students, and staff.

KMID News and KPEJ News also reported that the construction of the facility prompted the relocation of the weight room from another part of the campus to the gym itself.

Holy Cross officials said that the gym helps address the annual influx of students.

According to HCCHS's website, its mission is to be a beacon of excellent Catholic education for the youth of the Permian Basin.
