MPD to administer test for academy on June 22

The Midland Police Department (MPD) will administer another test for entry into its academy on June 22. Midlanders interested in joining the force can take the examination by applying through https://bit.ly/MPDPoliceRecruit or emailing the recruitment division at recruitment@midlandtexas.gov.

According to a June 20 Facebook post shared by MPD, the test will be given at the range at 4214 FM 307 at 9 a.m.

A previous Facebook post mentioned that to qualify for the force, an applicant must be a minimum of 21 years old, hold a valid driver's license, have no felony convictions, and present either a high school diploma or a GED with college credits.

The physical requirements include performing 30 sit-ups in 60 seconds, executing 25 push-ups in 60 seconds, and completing a 1.5-mile run in less than 14 minutes and 46 seconds.
