Deputies with the Midland County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) were summoned to the 2100 block of Market Street on June 11 in response to a body discovered by a jogger.

According to MCSO investigators, the decedent was identified as Troy Neel Luce. This information was shared in a June 13 Facebook post by the Permian Basin law enforcement agency.

The post stated that Luce was alleged to have been missing from Brazos County.

The Midland Reporter-Telegram reported that the 73-year-old male was the subject of a Silver Alert.

Citing a press release issued by the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), the publication reported that the MCSO was assisted by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the New Mexico State Police (NMSP).

Permian Basin stations KMID and KPEJ reported that Luce had been missing since the evening of June 8 when he was reportedly last spotted in the 2400 Block of West Old Spanish Road in Bryan.

The stations also reported that an autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of Luce’s death.
