The Midland Police Department (MPD) observed National Property and Evidence Professionals Appreciation Week, which takes place from April 1 to 7.
According to an April 4 Facebook post by the MPD, the department celebrated what it describes as "the incredible team behind the scenes" at the Permian Basin law enforcement agency. The police department, a member of the Texas Association of Property and Evidence Inventory Technicians (TAPEIT), recognized team members Rachel Bunch, Julie Ruiz, Tina Raines, Raven Garcia, Selena Barrera, and Rubbie Chavez for their contributions.
An Instagram post shared by the Westminster, California, Police Department explained that National Property and Evidence Professionals Appreciation Week honors professionals tasked with ensuring the integrity and accuracy of evidence and property. Their responsibilities include receiving, cataloging, storing, and maintaining the integrity of evidence, found property, and property held for safekeeping.
