The Midland Fire Department (MFD) was among a few in the Permian Basin to respond to a June 12 blaze in the 5000 block of East County Road 60. MFD joined the Northeast Volunteer Fire Department (NEVFD) and the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Department (GVFD) to address the incident, which occurred in the northeast part of the city.
According to a press release issued by the city on June 13, MFD officials said that the structure was "fully involved" upon firefighters’ arrival.
Permian Basin stations KMID and KPEJ News reported that it was a trailer that was consumed by flames.
The city’s release stated that the trailer was empty; therefore, no injuries were reported.
KMID and KPEJ reported that a "fully involved" fire means that the blaze progressed to the point where it could no longer be contained to a small area and has spread to other parts of the structure.
