Midland police posts future testing dates

Individuals with an interest in joining the Midland Police Department (MPD) will have two forthcoming opportunities to do so. The law enforcement agency is set to administer a test for entry into its academy on May 25 and June 8.

The testing sessions are scheduled to take place at 9 a.m. at the Midland Police Range located at 4214 FM 307, as per a May 13 Facebook post on MPD's page.

According to the post, in order to qualify for the force, an applicant must be a minimum of 21 years old, hold a valid driver's license, have no felony convictions, and present either a high school diploma or a GED with college credits.

The physical requirements include performing 30 sit-ups in 60 seconds, executing 25 push-ups in 60 seconds, and completing a 1.5-mile run in less than 14 minutes and 46 seconds.
