Judge Jeffrey Robnett of the Midland County 441st Judicial District Court recently praised Irene Olgin, a newly retired employee of the Midland County District Clerk's Office, as "the best of the best." In late April, Robnett and his court commemorated Olgin's retirement, marking the conclusion of her 25-year career.

"Congratulations Irene," said Robnett, according to Facebook. "You are the best of the best! Happy retirement!"

Olgin was celebrated in Judge Robnett's chambers on April 26. As detailed in Robnett's Facebook post, he wore a judge's wig and red robe to honor the occasion. Additionally, songs related to retirement like "Take This Job and Shove It" by Johnny Paycheck were played in the courtroom.

According to Olgin's LinkedIn page, she held the position of deputy clerk in the district clerk's office. This office is responsible for all civil proceedings heard in the district courts and county courts at law. The current officeholder is Alex "Lex" Archuleta.

Trellis reports that Robnett was elected to the 441st District Court as a Republican in 2018 and has since served as the administrative judge of this court. Prior to his election, he ran his own private practice. He holds a bachelor's degree from Princeton University and a juris doctorate from Texas Tech University School of Law.
