Mission Agape, a food pantry in Midland, announced a capital campaign to fund a new building on Thomason and Midland Drive.  The non-profit addresses hunger issues in Midland and surrounding counties.

Mission Agape was founded in 2012 as a weekend food program, according to Executive Director Stacy Baccus. "My husband Ric and I founded Mission Agape to feed those in need and show God's unconditional love, or Agape," Baccus said. After Ric's passing, Baccus continued the program and became the Executive Director.

Baccus told Midland Times that the program has expanded to feed 5,000 people each month while offering several other programs. "Mission Agape started with two volunteers and now has over 400 per month, quickly outgrowing our current borrowed space," Baccus said. "We are excited for the future."
