High school students and parents are being offered the chance to gain a deeper understanding of the Midland Legacy Scholars Program at an upcoming informational meeting. This event aims to provide details about the program, its application process, and its association with Midland College.
According to representatives from Midland College, this information session will take place next week. It will focus on how the program fosters student success and encourages the development of philanthropy and leadership skills. Furthermore, it will discuss how the initiative promotes a sense of community custodianship among students, in addition to offering full scholarships that cover tuition and fees.
Legacy Program Scholar Program Director Megan Brincks extended an invitation in a video posted online: "If you are interested in the Legacy Program, we’d love to see you for an information meeting on Monday, April 29 at the Marie Hall Academic Building from 6 to 7 p.m. room 101." She continued by outlining what attendees can expect: "If you are interested in knowing what the Legacy program is, this is a full tuition scholarship program for students who graduated from high school within Midland County. The program has lots of other really great benefits such as one-on-one success coaching, leadership and philanthropy training and networking opportunities both within the group and within the community. We’d love to see you there."
Midland College also revealed that funding for the Legacy Scholars Program is provided by several entities including The Abell-Hanger Foundation, Scharbauer Foundation, Helen Greathouse Charitable Trust, and Chaparral Foundation. Although scholarships and seats in the program are limited due to funding constraints, all high school seniors residing in Midland County are eligible to apply for these scholarships. Prospective candidates hail from diverse economic backgrounds with varying majors and career goals. However, they all share a common belief that continuing their education post-high school is crucial for their future success and ability to contribute positively to their communities.
