7 Brew, the new coffee franchise making its way into the Permian Basin, celebrated the grand opening of its new stand at 2201 W. Texas Ave. To mark the occasion, 7 Brew donated $1,500 to the Midland Humane Coalition, a nonprofit organization with a mission to end euthanasia of dogs and cats within the Midland community.

City Manager Tommy Gonzalez, alongside Midland Humane Coalition members and 7 Brew staff, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony to express their enthusiasm for 7 Brew's arrival in Midland.

"We're excited about welcoming 7 Brew here in Midland. They have flavors ranging from sweet to salty through shakes, teas, and a little bit of everything," said Gonzalez during the ceremony.

Dr. Jessica Garrett, the board president of Midland Humane Coalition, expressed gratitude for the donation, saying, "We appreciate our community and how they support us and our efforts to save as many dogs and cats as we can. It's our mission to get these dogs and cats into their forever homes. Hopefully, with this additional partnership with 7 Brew, it will help with those efforts, and we’re very grateful for that."

Mitch Stutler, the stand opener at 7 Brew, emphasized the positive impact of working at 7 Brews. "I love watching these young employees grow in their position because it's really not only about coffee,” he told Midland Times. “We get to witness these employees improve their people skills, get better at making friends, and through that, they get to grow into their better selves, and it's an amazing experience to watch that happen."

Scott McDonald, the stand manager at 7 Brew, shared his joy in being part of the team. "I feel so fortunate being a part of the team bringing this coffee shop to life,” he told Midland Times. “We have such a young core group of employees here, and we get the privilege to enter them into the workforce by providing them with their first job and showing them that work does not have to be this dreadful thing you've got to do every day. We can work together and have fun."

When asked his thoughts about 7 Brew’s donation, McDonald said, "I am such a huge dog lover, I have my own at home, and getting the chance to help all these pets in need of a loving home is so awesome. We are dog-friendly here at 7 Brew, and we offer puppuccinos for free. If you bring along your pet, we’d be more than happy to see them through the drive-thru and provide one for them."

7 Brew will have another opening in Midland later this spring at 3316 W. Loop 250. 7 Brew plans to donate free coffee to local community organizations at the grand opening.
