In this edition of "Adoptable Pet of the Week," introduced are two companions waiting for their “fur-ever” homes at the Midland Humane Coalition, Melody and Spice.
Melody is a 6-month-old female Domestic Short Hair. With beautiful calico markings, Melody's story began as that of a stray kitten left unclaimed by any owners. Despite her early life on the streets, Melody exhibits a friendly demeanor that suggests she may have once had a loving home. She's a bit slow to adjust to new environments, requiring a few days to acclimate, but she shows a playful side, particularly with other kittens. Melody's potential canine companionship is yet to be explored.
Spice enters the spotlight alongside her companion Pumpkin. This inseparable duo consists of two young female dogs found together. Spice, a 1-year-old Shepherd/Border Collie mix, sports a beautiful long tricolor coat and weighs about 35 pounds. Despite Spice being chipped, efforts to locate their owners were in vain. The bond between Spice and Pumpkin is undeniable, and the rescue hopes to keep them together. While they may not get along with other dogs, their sweet and friendly nature shines through when interacting with people. Keep in mind that this dynamic duo has a knack for escaping, possibly able to scale regular fences.
If you're considering adopting a pet, think about welcoming Melody or Spice into your home. Visit the Midland Humane Coalition to meet these two companions and explore the possibility of giving them a loving home.
