According to space.com, a solar eclipse occurs when the moon appears smaller in the sky than the sun, creating the "ring of fire" effect. During the eclipse, the moon will cover about 91% of the sun's disk, allowing the edges of the sun to be visible and creating the mesmerizing ring of fire effect that people enjoy.
So mark your calendars, Midlanders, for October 14th and get ready to witness the awe-inspiring "Ring of Fire" solar eclipse. Don't forget to prioritize safety when observing the sun and share your photos using the hashtag #MidlandEclipse2023.
