Here are this week's events in Midland:

Tuesday, Oct. 5

Wood and Wine will host a Hello Pumpkin door hangers class at 6:30 p.m. Stencils will be available for class participants. Food and beverages are allowed in The Studio at 3211 W. Wadley Suite #5.

Wednesday, Oct. 6

 A Beginner Drawing Class will be held in person at the Centennial Library (2503 W. Loop 250 N) starting at 5:15 p.m. Everyone can learn the basics of pencil sketching. No experience is necessary. A Zoom version of the class is also available.

Thursday, Oct. 7

Physics enthusiasts can enjoy An Evening with Dr. Hakeem Oluseyi, an astrophysicist, at Midland College, 3600 N. Garfield St., starting at 7 p.m. The free event is part of the Davidson Distinguished Lecture Series. Friday, Oct. 8

River Fine Arts will be holding its first Kids Create Night on Friday, featuring a scarecrow-themed night of fun for children ages 3-10. The two-hour event includes art, dance, and theater time for the kids starting at 6 p.m. Call 432-262-0298 to register.

Barefoot in the Park opens at the Midland Community Theatre on Friday. The story revolves around newlyweds Paul and Corie Bratter. After a six-day honeymoon, they get a surprise visit from Corie’s loopy mother. Find out what happens next at the David Theatre I. Tickets can be purchased here.

Saturday, Oct. 9

Find something unique and/or vintage at The Old Lumber Yard Trade Days event at 1801 W. Industrial Ave. The event is a collaboration among The Old Lumber Yard, ReVamp of Midland and The Destination Midland. Outdoor pop-ups and food trucks will be available. Sunday, Oct. 10

Explore the universe during the Cimarex Sunday Dome Shows on a 360-degree state-of-the-art Digistar 5 system with 3D capabilities in the Helen Greathouse Educational Discovery Dome at the Marian West and William Blanton Blakemore Planetarium (1705 W. Missouri Ave.). Black holes, the history of the space race and types of stars are among the many topics that will be discussed between 3 and 5 p.m.
