There were 26 Viola M. Coleman High School students identified as white during the 2018-19 school year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

The white student population made up 17.3 percent of the total student body at Viola M. Coleman High School.

Midland schools are governed by the Midland Independent School District, which had a budget of more than $380 million for the 2020 school year.

A recent analysis of Midland schools by the organization Children At Risk gave both Carver Centre Elementary and Early College High at Midland College an A+ rating. Bush Elementary earned a B-.

Unfortunately, the remaining 31 schools within the Midland Independent School District only achieved a C+ or less.
