With spring break concluded and students returning to class, the Midland Independent School District (ISD) Council of Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) convened for its quarterly meeting.
"Topics included a presentation from Dr. Kennedy from Midland College about their upcoming bond proposal, officer elections for the upcoming year, and an update from Dr. Howard that included information about UIL A+ Academics, National Merit Finalists, State swimming competitions, and our partnership with Baylor College of Medicine to launch STEM+ M," the Midland ISD wrote on Facebook. The district added that they were "grateful" for the hard work PTA does on their campuses.
The Midland ISD Council of PTAs posted on Facebook that they now have 6,283 members serving over 29,000 students. The organization has been experiencing steady growth over the past year.
In January, the Midland Times reported that the organization reached its goal of hitting the 6,000-membership milestone with 6,075 members. The Midland ISD Council of PTAs aims to unite parents, teachers, and staff to support schools and enhance students' learning experiences.
According to the PTA’s signup website, anyone can join the organization. Membership comes with several options. Community Partnership level options include an individual membership or business membership choice.
