Midland’s Carver Center had 18 African American students enrolled in 2018-19

There were 18 Carver Center students identified as African American during the 2018-19 school year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

The African American student population made up 3.5 percent of the total student body at Carver Center.

Midland schools are governed by the Midland Independent School District, which had a budget of more than $380 million for the 2020 school year.

A recent analysis of Midland schools by the organization Children At Risk gave both Carver Centre Elementary and Early College High at Midland College an A+ rating. Bush Elementary earned a B-.

Unfortunately, the remaining 31 schools within the Midland Independent School District only achieved a C+ or less.
