Buckner Children & Family Services issued the following announcement.

Single parents and children in Family Pathways receive gifts, crafts and treats to celebrate Christmas December 17, 2020

For the last 15 years, Morgan Stanley has blessed Longview Buckner families at Christmas with a festive party and gifts for children. This year, due to COVID-19, the usual festivities were not possible, but that didn’t stop Morgan Stanley from making sure each family could still create a little Christmas magic in their own homes.

Each of the families in the Family Pathways programs received a special holiday box filled with age-appropriate activities to celebrate Christmas.

Creating special family time

“Christmas is such a special time,” said Linda Womack, Family Pathways program manager, “and we wanted to make sure our families still had a bright and special Christmas, even if it looks a little different this year. This has been a hard year for many families, and we’re so grateful to Morgan Stanley for providing a way for families to feel special during the holidays.”

The box included gifts, books, treats and crafts to help each family celebrate Christmas together and bond over family activities. In addition, Morgan Stanley included a $50 gift card with each box so the single parents could buy Christmas gifts for their children.

Christms boxes show true meaning of Christmas

“It has been a really challenging year with everything going on in the world,” said Karlee Knuth, Family Pathways mother of two, working on her bachelor’s degree. “These boxes are just a great way to spend quality time with my kids, and it definitely shows the true meaning of Christmas!”
