Paul McKinney will serve as Ring Energy, Inc.'s new chairman of the board of directors, the oil and gas exploration company said in a December statement.

"I am humbled and inspired by the trust and support Ring's stockholders have placed in me and the independent directors that serve with me," McKinney said in the company's release posted to Businesswire.com.

The company has also approved six other independent directors to be members of the board, Ring energy said in the release.

The seven elected directors will be serving another one-year term, which will end in 2021 when the 2021 Annual Meeting of Stockholders occurs, the company said in the release.

"These six directors are men and women of impeccable character, and each brings unique abilities and strengths to this board," McKinney said in the release. "Their prior experience and success in varying industries will lend a high degree of diversity, insight, and wisdom as we work together to enhance shareholder value."
