For students who want to stay closer to home for a year or two until the COVID-19 pandemic subsides, the University of Texas Permian Basis offers options for 2020, including 100% online courses, hybrid and face-to-face instruction, UT Permian Basin’s website said.

Students can get help from professors or advisors both in person or virtually at the student success enter, the university said.

Admissions officials at UT Permian Basin suggest searching for a school that considers online classes as important as on-campus programs, the website said. "Choose a school that has already invested time in choosing dynamic online professors and developing a learning platform that works," the university said. "Schools that were already prepared will be better equipped to adapt to your online learning needs this fall."

The UT Perminan Basin is highly qualified, the university said.

"All tenured and tenure-track faculty hold the highest degree achievable in their field," the university said. "But they're also approachable experts, providing the same personalized support and mentoring, whether on campus or on-line, to help you find and pursue your passion."

The university advises future college students to "Look for a school with innovative classes and assignments to create learning that sticks with you."

UT Permian Basin students may be eligible for financial aid that includes grants, scholarships, work-study and loans, the website reported. By filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), students can learn the amount of aid they may be awarded.

Pell Grant-eligible Texas residents may qualify to get 100% of tuition and fees covered through the Falcon Promise program.

"UTPB undergraduate tuition costs for both online and on-campus classes are some of the lowest in the state," the university said. "Texas and New Mexico residents pay just over $200 per semester credit hour."

UT Permian Basin developed its own Back to Campus plan. It also waived test score requirements for incoming freshman and most graduate students this fall.
