Now that Kairos Aerospace, Inc. has completed the first half of its 2020 Permian Basin survey, it’s now preparing for round two, the company announced.
Kairos, which is the largest provider of large aerial monitoring of methane emissions, first evaluated more than 62,000 oil and gas wells, and nearly 25,000 miles of gas pipelines, the company said. More than 800 companies and more than 6,444 square miles in the West Texas and southeastern New Mexico regions also participated.
The second half will evaluate 20,000 additional active wells than the first.
“Our company has seen significant growth in the past two years and it is exciting to see the vast amount of actionable data we were able to collect through this survey, all while partnering the Permian’s major producers and midstream companies," the company's CEO and co-founder Steve Deiker said in the news release. " I’m proud of our team and the difference we’re making on our clients’ product loss rates and their environmental impact.”
