Hannah Ware, a 2020 graduate of Midland High School, was awarded the Tyler Berry Memorial Soccer Scholarship, the Permian Basin Area Foundation announced.

Ware who is also part of the Ajax West Texas club, has been playing soccer since she was young. The scholarship is one that is awarded to Midland High School graduates — one male and one female — who participated in the soccer team from the beginning of the season, had a minimum of 3.0 overall GPA of a 4.0 scale, has a financial need and is involved in other extracurricular activity, including school, church and community, the foundation said.

The foundation announced Ware's scholarship last month alone with more than 340 other scholarship awards to students in West Texas for a total of $709,624. Since it began, the foundation has provided $108 million in scholarships.

On her Next College Student Athlete profile, Ware describes herself as a lifelong soccer player who is diligent and hard-working. She says she isn't afraid to put extra effort in to achieve her goals.
