Dustin Faught, formerly head coach of the San Angelo Central High School basketball team, has been appointed new coach of the Midland High School (MHS) Bulldogs.
"Everywhere I've been, it's made me a better coach just because it's put me in situations where I had to figure out the formula and make it work," Faught told NewsWest 9. "I try and find a way for the kids in the program that we have at the time to be successful."
Faught has a winning history as a coach. He won a 3A league state championship with the Brownfield Cubs.
"We're gonna be fast and furious - that's the way I like to coach," he said of his new team. "We're going to press off makes and misses, we're going to fly off the floor, we're going to push it in transition and put a ton of pressure on teams both offensively and defensively."
Faught was formerly MHS assistant coach under Trey Watts from 2007 to 2009.
"I know how much it means to Midland High to have a basketball team out on the floor they can be proud of," Faught said. "How can we get Midland High back into the conversation, back into competing for championships, back into making those deep playoff runs, and going and playing for something?"
Faught said he will now begin putting together a coaching staff for the season.
