The April outlook from the National Weather Service’s Climate Prediction Center indicates that above-average temperatures are expected throughout the state.
For Midland specifically, the forecast suggests a 55% chance of above-average temperatures for the month, a 33% chance of near-average temperatures, and only a 12% chance of below-average temperatures.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Midland, this week is designated as Severe Weather Awareness Week. The organization is urging residents to prepare for potential storms in advance. However, there are currently no storms anticipated in the immediate future. "Below average temperatures for early April persist today. However, much drier weather and lighter, northerly winds are expected," NWS Midland said.
A detailed forecast from the NWS outlines that Sunday will experience a high temperature of 57 degrees Fahrenheit with wind gusts up to 10 mph tonight and a low of 38 degrees. Monday's weather is predicted to be clear, with temperatures reaching a high near 71 degrees and a low of 44 degrees. On Tuesday, conditions are expected to be partly cloudy with a high near 78 degrees and a low of 51 degrees. Wednesday's forecast includes an anticipated high of 87 degrees and a low of 57 degrees. Thursday will see highs near 82 degrees and lows at 53 degrees, with Friday expected to follow suit with highs near 81 and lows near 59.
