MPD response to gunshots in north Midland yields two arrests

The Midland Police Department (MPD) responded to reports of gunshots behind a business in the 4300 block of West Wadley Avenue on March 6.

According to a press release, authorities were initially called to a road rage incident at Comet Cleaners around 3:20 p.m. The call was subsequently upgraded to "shots fired" behind Soft Suds.

MPD reported that officers detained several individuals upon arrival, with two individuals arrested for attempted tampering with physical evidence. An investigation determined that there were two shooters who remain unidentified and at large. Police recovered a firearm from the scene.

Authorities identified the apprehended subjects as 18-year-olds Ryan Allen and Stephon Freeman. The incident remains under investigation.
