Midland College's Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) program has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing both national and state averages in its pass rates.

According to a news release, the LVN program attained a perfect 100 percent pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), outperforming the national average of 88.35 percent and the Texas average of 92.9 percent for 2023. The NCLEX is a standardized exam required for nursing licensure, ensuring that graduates are adequately prepared to enter professional practice. The school states that these results demonstrate its commitment to student success and meeting local healthcare needs.

Additionally, students in Midland College's Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program achieved a 98.49% pass rate on the NCLEX-RN, as reported in the news release. These scores exceed the national average of 90.63% and the Texas state average of 91.15% for 2023.

"These outstanding results reflect the dedication and hard work of our faculty, staff, administration, and — most importantly — our students," said Cindy Madewell, Dean of Health Sciences at Midland College. "We are incredibly proud of their achievements and their commitment to providing top-quality health care."

The news release also highlights that Midland College's nursing program emphasizes hands-on training, academic excellence, and real-world experience in its curriculum. According to the college, this approach ensures that students receive exceptional training that equips them with essential competencies to serve with skill and compassion.
