Big Bend Services acquired by Sunland Family of Companies

A local company specializing in diversified drilling solutions, serving sectors such as conventional oil and gas, wind and solar energy, public utilities, and other commercial developments, has been acquired by the Sunland Family of Companies.

The Eunice, Louisiana-based firm offers energy-related construction services, including pipeline integrity services and marine construction. According to a press release, Midland’s Big Bend Services and three additional companies under its umbrella will continue to operate as separate consortiums.

According to the news release, the other companies include Pete Martin Drilling from Vernal, Utah; Mid-Continent Conductor from Calumet, Oklahoma; and Javeler Marine Services from Broussard, Louisiana. Other entities within Sunland include Sunland Construction, Foremost Pipeline Construction Co., and Buffalo Gap Instruments & Electrical Co. The company was established in 1974 and employs approximately 2,000 people nationwide.

"Big Bend Services, Pete Martin Drilling, and Mid-Continent Conductor are well-known providers of conductor (rathole) drilling, re-set surface drilling, civil/foundation drilling, and renewable drilling," said Eddie Soileau, founder and owner of Sunland Family. Soileau added that the acquisition will enable the company to offer drilling solutions nationwide.
