Midland Independent School District (ISD) is observing National FFA Week by emphasizing the influence of the Future Farmers of America (FFA) organization on students, agriculture, and local communities.
In a Facebook post, the district expressed pride in its Midland ISD FFA students and instructors. "FFA is a youth organization that prepares members for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education," the district wrote. "Did you know...? FFA is not just for students who want to be farmers! FFA also welcomes members who aspire to careers as teachers, doctors, scientists, business owners and more!"
According to the Texas FFA Association, February 18th was designated as #MyTexasFFADay. The aim was to highlight the positive impacts of FFA on social media and detail these influences.
Texas FFA Area V State Vice President Caden Garner said that over 180,000 members of Texas FFA and nationally over one million members would celebrate the organization throughout the week. "Our mission statement is premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education," Garner said. "In Texas, we encourage chapters to participate in various activities to promote agriculture, education, and community involvement."
